How do we secure and harness the resources, inspiration, and motivation to fully realize our mission and act as a field. In this interactive sessions artists, producers, agents/managers, presenters and scholars come together to explore ways to optimize partnerships, create collaborations that move beyond the market-driven paradigms that have characterized our industry to concrete strategies and actions.
Concurrent Session II: Forces Shaping the Communities We Serve
What are the roles and responsibilities for presenters, producers, and artists – performing arts professionals - in completely changed communities and in a world where participants are empowered and have the will and resources to create, curate and share their experiences. What is our role in enabling creative capacity, providing a forum for community building and deeper engagement with the arts? What are the promising practices and effective approaches to embracing a new era of civic participation and engagement in our communities? Community stakeholders come together to exchange stories and approaches that are meeting with success.
Concurrent Session III: How Will We Lead?
What new policies and practices are emerging in education, healthcare, civil society and other sectors that affect our growth and impact as a field? What are the assumptions and approaches to the business of presenting that are working? What new structures and projects are taking hold to support innovation and more adaptive strategies? What steps have performing arts leaders taken to rethink the roles, responsibilities, practices and expectations for our work in presenting performances and in connecting people in our communities?
