Under The Radar Festival & Symposium

APAP is pleased to partner with Mark Russell, artistic director/producer and The Public Theater to host the Under the Radar Festival and a special two-day symposium event scheduled from January 4 through January 15, 2012.  Participants join in an exchange about new independent and experimental theater and the artists, producers and presenters engaged in expanding the boundaries for theater making worldwide.  The two-day symposium features full length festival performances, an opening keynote, breakout and Speed Dating sessions and a late night gathering place. Attendance at the Symposium is strictly limited to presenting and producing professionals in the field.

Now in its eighth year, Under The Radar Festival is 12 days of explosive, diverse theater—incomparable performances and productions from around the world that spotlight a range of artists, from emerging talents to masters in the field.  Headquartered at The Public Theater and at partner venues, Under The Radar features an unparalleled array of artists whose work is defining theater and how we participate in new and far reaching ways.   Under The Radar is part of the APAP|NYC 2012 conference.  The festival and symposium has received major funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Ford Foundation.

For more information on the festival and symposium, please contact Meiyin Wang, associate producer at mwang@publictheater.org or at (212) 539-8511.  Watch for the 2012 festival schedule and festival updates at www.undertheradarfestival.com.
