Member Volunteer Opportunities
Mentoring Committee
Mentoring is a crucial element of the conference (and doesn't take much of your time). Each year up to 10% of the participants at the conference – close to 400 - are attending for the first time. Mentors are assigned to communicate with a small group of new colleagues before the conference and then join in the New Colleagues Orientation held on the first day of the conference in New York to meet with more first time colleagues and to participate in a roundtable discussion. Mentors help perpetuate the norms of collegiality, collaboration and continuous professional development in the field. And you have the opportunity to form relationships with the field's newest practitioners (or at least new to the conference) and assist peers in prioritizing materials, information and activities.
Conference Info Desk
The Conference Info Desk is a vital service center at the conference. Located across from the registration desk and open during conference registration hours, the Conference Info Desk serves as an place for all things related to APAP, the conference, New York City and the Hilton Hotel. Help your colleagues find everything from the opening plenary to locations in Brooklyn!
