2014 information is coming soon. 2013 details are below.
IMAGINE: APAP|NYC 2013
This year, APAP|NYC - the most anticipated international convening of the performing arts field - will challenge us to break out of the norm and explore what's possible in our work. The conference will ignite discussion about the impact we can make in our own businesses, in the arts industry and in our communities.
Re-charge your batteries, discover new talent, gain professional know-how, network with colleagues and experience the performing arts together in business and onstage. Be at the center of 3,500+ professionals - new voices and familiar voices, big voices and small voices, local voices and global voices - and be surrounded by the people who believe in what you do, who understand the value of the arts and who can imagine the future of our communities.
The 2013 conference offers open space formats, interactive dialogue sessions, member-organized forums, and a consultation salon with experts, pre- and post-conference resources to help you sustain your work and ensure the vitality of your organization and the arts in your community. Keep reading (
or take a look at the e-brochure!) to see what APAP|NYC 2013 has planned for you.

Showcases
With more than 1,000 showcases produced by artists representing the breadth of performing arts disciplines, genres and formats during APAP|NYC, New York City plays host to a five-day festival of excerpted performances, works in progress and full length work. Showcases give presenting professionals the most comprehensive opportunity to see artists from around the world perform live in one city and the next day to talk with the artists and their representatives about their work and availability. Showcases are consistently cited by conference attendees as a top reason to attend APAP|NYC.
Participating in APAP|NYC as a touring artist, producing company, artist manager or agent? Showcases offer a unique platform for presenters and all attendees to experience your work firsthand as they plan for upcoming seasons, series and events. APAP Special Events
APAP|NYC hosts a wide array of special events to make your experience a memorable one, including the New Colleague Orientation, Welcome Reception, Awards Luncheon and Late Night Lounge.
APAP|NYC Awards
One of the most exciting events at APAP|NYC is the Awards Luncheon. Which audience member will be surprised to learn he or she won the Fan Taylor Award? (It’s the best-kept secret of APAP|NYC!) Which distinguished professional will receive the Award of Merit? Who is the sure-to-be funny and charming MC? All APAP members can participate by nominating colleagues and peers who have made or are making a significant contribution to the performing arts field. This fall, take a few minutes to nominate those exceptional professionals you feel deserve recognition.
Special Interest Sessions and Consortia Meetings
Special Interest sessions are organized by members and focus on specific areas of practice, research, current issue or topic of interest to a particular segment of members or of general interest to the field. State and Regional Consortia meetings give you an opportunity to meet your regional or state colleagues, talk about issues important to your location and opportunities for partnerships or collaborations.
Pre-Conference Forums
These member-organized, interactive half-day forums and special sessions focus on issues and opportunities in dance, theatre, world music, jazz, outdoor festivals, youth and family programming, classical, new and contemporary music as well as touring Broadway, global cultural exchanges and eco-leadership. Watch for details on these exciting, interactive forums.
Consultation Salons
Back by popular demand! Consultation Salons are one-on-one consultation sessions with experts and specialists in the field, running throughout the five days of APAP|NYC.
Other Events
APAP|NYC is the nexus for an expanding global network of events and festivals celebrating the arts. The 2014 conference marks the tenth year that APAP has co-hosted and co-presented with the Public Theater and artistic director/producer Mark Russell the Under the Radar Festival and Symposium. This innovative artistic enterprise features full length festival performances and a two-day program of keynote speakers, breakout sessions and conversations exploring the landscape for new theater. This year APAP hosts the fourth annual Jazz Forum, and an opportunity for members to discuss the future for the jazz field and jazz audiences.
